The Coalition for Public Safety & Law Enforcement is a national organization built around the experience of the people working inside America's criminal justice system.
CPSLE represents tens of thousands of law enforcement officers and is building relationships with prosecutors across the country. Our Board of Advisors includes active law enforcement officers, investigators, and prosecutors who see firsthand what is happening in their communities and inside the criminal justice system every day.
That experience drives everything we do.
Why We Exist
Decisions about policing, prosecution, technology, criminal justice, and public safety are being made every day.
The people expected to carry out those decisions should have a meaningful voice in making them.
Law enforcement officers and prosecutors see what happens after a law is passed. They see what happens when a new policy reaches the street. They see when technology works—and when it creates problems. They see when strong cases disappear and when the same offenders keep coming back through the system.
CPSLE exists to bring that experience into the rooms where decisions are being made.
Built Around the People Doing the Job
Our greatest strength isn't a building in Washington or another policy report.
It's our network.
CPSLE is being built around active law enforcement officers, investigators, and prosecutors from across the country.
They tell us what is happening. They help us identify problems early. And they give CPSLE the experience and credibility to bring the right people together and do something about it.
Dedicated Centers. Focused Missions.
CPSLE takes on major public-safety challenges through dedicated national Centers.
Each Center has a specific mission and brings together the law enforcement experience, prosecutors, policymakers, private-sector expertise, research, advocacy, and relationships necessary to take that issue on.
Today, that work includes the Center for Artificial Intelligence & Public Safety, the Center for Prosecutor Accountability, and the Center for Organized Retail Crime, with CPSLE continuing to build national capacity around emerging public-safety challenges.
We Don't Intend to Watch From the Sidelines.
CPSLE wasn't created to simply study public safety.
We are building an organization capable of acting.
That means identifying problems, developing solutions, working with policymakers, engaging industry, educating the public, advocating for change, and holding decision-makers accountable when their actions put communities at risk.
When decisions affecting public safety are being made, the people doing the job should be in the room.
CPSLE intends to make sure they are.
